Miadok Corey

Midok Corey (Daniela Sea) is really quite easy to get along with, so long as you don't mind the constant snark and backtalk, you get his gender right, you don't mind maybe being put into a wall if it's the most expedient option, and you Don't. Touch. The bike.

Defining Abilities and Attributes

Extremely good with vehicles. Combat-trained with extensible sword; took additional combat training in small arms and motorcycle-mounted tactics. Can trigger/amplify/"junction" certain forms of low-energy magic (Final Fantasy-style items, for example), and can "junction" magic with the help of a GF:

Using the low-level forms of energy manipulation in humans, the mercenary organization SeeD developed a form of "junctioning" which essentially stores magical energy in certain "formats" in various parts of the body and mind. When this energy takes the form of a compatible sentient being, called a Guardian Force (or GF), the GF's own abilities allow the SeeD to greatly amplify his/her own abilities, allowing them to cast this formatted energy (paramagical spells), wire the energy into their own body (resulting in heightened speed, strength, endurance, and perception), and giving them access to various special abilities (Mia's GF, Stray, allows him a preternatural ability to avoid and escape from altercations, for example. GFs can also be summoned into brief physical form, generally to aid in battle.

Canonically, GFs are mnemnovores - or at least have a deleterious effect on memory. Mia comes from at least eight years post-game (and post-discovery of their effects on memory), at which point significant research has been done, but no magic cure has been found. To combat the memory slide, he has a regimen of daily mnemonics, exercises, habits of note-taking, etc. etc. which eats at least about an hour of his day per day. A hassle? Oh yes, but SeeDs generally consider it a fair trade for all the GFs do for them.

Personality

The Seven of Wands from the Fenestra Tarot - Mia's card.

Sometimes it gets hard to tell if Mia is getting himself in trouble or taking a fall for the team. Naturally loyal and fiercely confrontational, Mia practically lives his life in a state of conflict – if he's not butting heads with people, there's something kinda wrong. He's generally the one telling the universe that it's full of it, and threatening to take it on single-handedly.

At the same time, and almost paradoxically, Mia is an exceptionally good team player who looks for a competent leader to fall into step with. Paraphrased from somewhere or other? Some people want ot be The Guy. Mia wants to be the guy The Guy can't do without.

Constantly snarky but hard to anger, Mia thinks of himself as a pragmatist but is more likely to be caught making snap decisions than reasoned choices. His instincts usually see him through – but when those fail, impressive tenacity picks up the slack.

A compulsive tinkerer, Mia has something of an unnatural love for machinery that includes wheels or jets and goes faster than a speeding land transport.

Background

Born and raised in one of the Galbadian border provences, the female-bodied Miadok was always a bit too intense for his rather provincial town. He enrolled in Balamb Garden as a nonmilitary boarding student at around the age of ten and quickly wormed his way into the SeeD curriculum, graduating at the standard 17. For the past few years he's been taking semesters at Galbadia Garden in small arms, as SeeDs don't train in gun technology.

Don't. Touch. The bike.
When the Sorceress War struck, Mia was still in his training and fought in the SeeD force repelling the Galbadia Garden attack. There he first saw the devastating effectiveness of motorcycle combatants, and quickly found sought training in such tactics when the campaigns were over. He also developed an appreciation for temporal mechanics and trained to become part of the SeeD force overseeing the construction of B-Garden's chronetic engine; though his engineering certificaiton wasn't completed in time for the actual construction, he did manage to secure himself a place on the maintenance team.

Several years later, when one Captian Jack Harkness (though not the one local to the City) and D(C)I Sam Tyler arrived on the Rinaul Coast – practically B-Garden's front doorstep – he was dispatched on his motorcycle to investigate. In part because of this convenience and in part because he was one of the few people aware when the ensuing time loop started up, he worked closely with them to expel them from the timeline and clean up the damage they had inadvertently caused.

Some time after that, a catastrophic error in chronetic technology catapulted Mia and the Provost of Garden, Nida, out of the timeline and onto Earth, where they ran into Jack once more. Seeing as they were two highly-qualified SeeDs and Earth was in the middle of a crisis Torchwood was earnestly trying to prevent, Jack recruited them almost immediately. At current, Mia is on assignment from Jack to identify, contain, and combat a number of various problems assumed to be Sifr doing.
